Moritz is Cherry’s General Counsel and leads the firm’s legal, regulatory, compliance, and ESG functions. Like all of us, he is passionate about helping Europe’s boldest founders scale their businesses – and simply loves doing what he does best, which is providing strategic advice to Cherry’s founders whenever they need it.

Moritz was previously a member of the legal team at Lakestar, a European multi-stage venture fund, and a private equity associate at Freshfields. He studied law at the Universities of Heidelberg and Münster before working at the German Foreign Office and various international law firms in New York and Berlin. He is a native speaker of English and German – and we’ve also heard great things about his half-decent conversational skills in French, although he was less keen on seeing that included here!
